ونظرا إلى أن التصحر يطال كافة القطاعات، فمن الجوهري كفالة التنسيق فيما بين جميع الوكالات الحكومية ذات الصلة على الصعيدين المركزي والمحلي في مجال تنفيذ برامج العمل الوطنية بمشاركة فاعلة من المجتمع المدني.

72 - وحيث أن التصحر ينال من الكثير من قطاعات التنمية، يجري تشجيع التعاون فيما بين القطاعات لإعداد برامج العمل الوطنية.

The economic, social and human cost of desertification is tremendous. I therefore call upon the international community to take immediate and decisive action to address its impacts and to take measures for both its prevention and its reversal.
كما أن التصحر له تكلفة اجتماعية وبشرية واقتصادية فادحة، ولهذا فإنني أهيب بالمجتمع الدولي اتخاذ إجراءات فورية وحاسمة لمعالجة آثاره واتخاذ تدابير لمنعه وعكس مساره.
