1. Elimination of prejudices and gender stereotypes (art. 5(a))

It requires addressing genderbased social and cultural prejudices, providing for equality in the allocation of resources, and promoting the sharing of responsibilities in the family, community and public life.
وتقتضي معالجة أوجه التحامل الاجتماعي والثقافي القائم على أساس نوع الجنس، كما تنص على المساواة في تخصيص الموارد، وتعزز تقاسم المسؤوليات في إطار الأسرة والمجتمع والحياة العامة.

Some other member States and groups consider that it is essential for States to elaborate provisions on human rights education, with a view to combating prejudices which lead to racial discrimination and to promoting understanding, tolerance and friendship among nations, as well as among racial and ethnic groups.

In some countries, awarenessraising campaigns were under way, aimed at sensitizing the larger public about the effects of racism and the need to eliminate prejudices against vulnerable groups, such as migrants, indigenous peoples, Roma, people of African descent and people of Arab descent.

٢٤٣ - توصي اللجنة بأن تعمل الحكومة على تطوير حملات اعلامية وحملات توعية حول مبادئ وأحكام الاتفاقية بتعاون وثيق، عند الاقتضاء، مع زعماء المجتمع ورجال الدين بغية خلق وعي أوسع واسهام في القضاء على أوجه التحامل السائدة والتقاليد الثقافية التي قد تضر بالتمتع بحقوق الطفل.

Measures should be taken to disseminate information and increase awareness about the Convention and to prevent discriminatory attitudes or prejudices towards vulnerable groups of children, including migrant children and gypsies.
٢٨١ - ويتعين اتخاذ التدابير الرامية إلى نشر المعلومات وزيادة الوعي فيما يتصل بالاتفاقية ولمنع المواقف التمييزية أو أوجه التحامل إزاء الجماعات الضعيفة من اﻷطفال بما في ذلك اﻷطفال من المهاجرين ومن قبائل الغجر.
