56. The Unit had finalized and adopted internal working procedures to complement its standards and guidelines. Those procedures were being supported by new processes and tools designed to ensure that JIU reports reflected the priorities of Member States and were relevant to major United Nations system initiatives and that the themes selected created synergies with other oversight bodies while avoiding duplication.
56 - وقد أنجزت الوحدة إجراءات العمل الداخلية لإكمال معاييرها ومبادئها التوجيهية، واعتمدت هذه الإجراءات التي تدعمها الآن بعمليات ووسائل جديدة مصممة لضمان إظهار أولويات الدول الأعضاء في تقارير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة، ولكي تكون هذه التقارير على صلة بالمبادرات الرئيسية في منظومة الأمم المتحدة، وأن تُشكِّل المواضيع المختارة نقاط التقاء مع هيئات الرقابة الأخرى في الوقت الذي تتجنب فيه الازدواجية.

3. To answer these concerns and better steer its work in the selection, planning, conduct and reporting of its inspections, evaluations and investigations, the Unit adopted a revised set of internal standards and guidelines in 1996 (see A/51/34, annex I). The Unit is in the process of finalizing a set of internal working procedures that will complement the standards and guidelines.
