As to the request for a report from the Secretary-General in paragraph 8 of the draft resolution, he recalled that the Commissioner-General of UNRWA was authorized under General Assembly resolution 302 (IV) to report directly and independently to the General Assembly and consequently could commission any report on the management of UNRWA, in consultation with the Secretary-General if appropriate.
