His delegation supported the proposal by Belarus and the Russian Federation to request an advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on the legal consequences of the use of armed force for reasons other than self-defence or without the prior authorization of the Security Council.
وأوضح أن وفده يؤيد الاقتراح المقدم من الاتحاد الروسي وبيلاروس لطلب فتوى من محكمة العدل الدولية عن الآثار القانونية لاستعمال القوة المسلحة لأغراض غير الدفاع عن النفس، أو بدون إذن مسبق من مجلس الأمن.

Such a request for an advisory opinion, which was in line with the Charter, was seen as particularly opportune in the current world situation where it was felt that there had been an increase in the use of force, or threat of the use of force, without prior authorization by the Security Council and in contravention of the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations.

14. His delegation reiterated the importance of the proposal that an advisory opinion be requested from the International Court of Justice as to the legal consequences of the resort to the use of force by States without prior authorization by the Security Council.

Lastly, his delegation endorsed the revised working paper submitted by the Russian Federation and Belarus on the issue of requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the legal consequences of the use of force by States without prior authorization by the Security Council.

38. The co-sponsors of the proposal stressed the continued relevance of the subject matter of the above-mentioned revised working paper and its value in providing a common understanding of the legal consequences of the resort to the use of force by States without prior authorization by the Security Council.
38 - وشدد صاحبا المقترح على استمرار أهمية مادة ورقة العمل المنقحة المذكورة أعلاه وقيمتها في إتاحة فهم مشترك للآثار القانونية للجوء الدول إلى استخدام القوة بدون إذن مسبق من مجلس الأمن.

36. The co-sponsors of the proposal highlighted the continued relevance of the subject matter of the above-mentioned revised working paper and its value in providing a common understanding of the legal consequences of the resort to the use of force by States without prior authorization by the Security Council.
