At the gendarmerie cells in Goz Beïda, detainees were kept in holding cells for up to 55 days without appearing before a magistrate, while in Iriba and Adre inmates remained in prison for several months without charge, owing to the absence of judicial officers.

50. From 21 to 23 June, MINURCAT organized a sensitization workshop on Security Council resolutions 1325 (2000) and 1820 (2008) for female refugees and internally displaced persons and women from the host community in Iriba.

In order to support operations in the field, the Section would deploy to the Field Offices in Iriba, Farchana and Goz Beïda a staffing complement of 18 transport personnel: 6 Transport Assistants (3 Field Service and 3 United Nations Volunteers), 6 Vehicle Technicians (3 national General Service staff and 3 United Nations Volunteers) and 6 Drivers (national General Service staff).
