To bring greater collaboration, coherence and impact to the Organization's work at the country level, the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) was introduced in 1997 as part of the Secretary-General's reform package.

He reported that the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) mechanism, which was the most revolutionary of the Secretary-General's reforms, was being pilot-tested in 18 countries. The UNDAF pilot tests would be evaluated in the coming months.
