Regarding the question whether the pre-assessment and ongoing assessment reports referred to in paragraphs 3 and 4 of resolution 56/87 could assist the Special Committee in its work, the Secretariat, at the same meeting, informed the Special Committee that the sanctions committees, established by the Security Council, and the Secretariat were guided by the mandates of the Security Council in the preparation of such reports.
