Recalling the request to the Subcommission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities that it should complete its consideration of the draft universal declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples,

وأوصت اللجنة، في رسالة إلى اللجنة الفرعية لمنع التمييز وحماية اﻷقليات، بمواضيع لكي تدرسها اللجنة الفرعية مثل التحفظات المبداة على المعاهدات، ومفهوم العرق، وحقوق اﻷفراد من غير المواطنين.

Introduction The report submitted by Iraq to the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities at its forty-sixth session (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1994/54) comprised an ample and objective review of all the Iraqi legislative enactments and laws currently in force related to the protection of minorities.
إن ما ورد في تقرير العراق المقدم إلى اللجنة الفرعية لمنع التمييز وحماية اﻷقليات في دورتها السادسة واﻷربعين (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1994/54) قد تضمن عرضاً وافياً وموضوعياً لمجمل التشريعات والقوانين العراقية النافذة حالياً، والمتعلقة بحماية اﻷقليات وأبرزها ما نص عليها الدستور العراقي في:

In the draft submitted as part of the Committee's recommendation to the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, she had welcomed the formula: " fundamental principles inherent to the Covenant as a whole " .

The attention of the Commission on Human Rights is also drawn to the note by the secretariat on the situation in East Timor, dated 5 August 1994, which was submitted to the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities at its forty-sixth session (E/CN.4/1994/Sub.2/14 and Add.1).

Attention was drawn to the working paper presented by Mr. Osman El-Hajjé to the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities in 1997, which dealt with the potentially adverse consequences of scientific progress in respect of the integrity, dignity and human rights of the individual (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/34).
22- استرعي الانتباه إلى ورقة العمل التي قدمها السيد عثمان الحجه إلى اللجنة الفرعية لمنع التمييز وحماية الأقليات في عام 1997، والتي عالجت العواقب السلبية المحتملة للتقدم العلمي بالنسبة لسلامة الفرد وكرامته وحقوقه (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/34).
