In 1996 the Council again expanded the terms of reference of the Commission to include monitoring, reviewing and appraising progress achieved and problems encountered in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action at all levels and advising the Council thereon (see Council resolution 1996/6).
5 - وفي عام 1996، وسَّع المجلس مجدداً من نطاق اختصاصات اللجنة لتشمل هذه الاختصاصات رصد واستعراض وتقييم التقدم المحرز والمشاكل التي تجري مواجهتها في تنفيذ إعلان ومنهاج عمل بيجين على جميع المستويات، وإسداء المشورة إلى المجلس بهذا الشأن (انظر قرار المجلس 1996/6).

In its resolution 49/128 of 19 December 1994, in which it endorsed the recommendations of the International Conference on Population and Development, the General Assembly decided that the Commission, as a functional commission assisting the Economic and Social Council, would monitor, review and assess the implementation of the Programme of Action of the Conference at the national, regional and international levels, and advise the Council thereon.
أيدت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 49/128 المؤرخ 19 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1994، توصيات المؤتمر الدولي للسكان والتنمية، وقررت أن تتولى اللجنة بوصفها لجنة فنية تساعد المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، رصد تنفيذ برنامج عمل المؤتمر واستعراضه وتقييمه على الصعيد الوطني والإقليمي والدولي، وإسداء المشورة إلى المجلس بهذا الشأن.
