1. 4. Customs and border control 202. The Monitoring Group welcomes the statement by the President of the Security Council of 31 October 2002 welcoming the establishment of the United Nations Group of Governmental Experts with a mandate to examine the feasibility of developing an international instrument to enable States to identify and trace the transnational movement of illicit small arms and light weapons.

Requests the Secretary-General to report, as early as possible, to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice on the results of the study, and directs the Ad Hoc Committee on the Elaboration of a Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, following the completion of the study, to consider the possible elaboration of an international instrument on the illicit manufacturing of and trafficking in explosives.
٨ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم، في أقرب وقت ممكن تقريرا إلى لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية عن نتائج تلك الدراسة، وتوجه اللجنة المخصصة لوضع اتفاقية لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية بأن تنظر، عقب إنجاز الدراسة، في إمكانية وضع صك دولي بشأن صنع المتفجرات والاتجار بها على نحو غير مشروع.
