1. Reaffirms that any act of enforced disappearance is an offence to human dignity and a grave and flagrant violation of the human rights and fundamental freedoms proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Resolution 217 A (III). and reaffirmed and developed in other international instruments in this field, as well as a violation of the rules of international law;
١ - تؤكد من جديد أن كل فعل يؤدي إلى حالة اختفاء قسري يشكل إهانة للكرامة اﻹنسانية وانتهاكا خطيـرا وصارخـا لحقوق اﻹنسان والحريات اﻷساسية التـي نــص عليهـا اﻹعـلان العالمـي لحقـوق اﻹنسان)٨٧(، والتي أعادت تأكيدها وطورتها صكوك دولية أخرى صادرة في هذا الشأن، كما يشكل انتهاكا لقواعد القانون الدولي؛

وإذ تؤكد من جديد أن التمييز ضد البشر على أساس الدين أو المعتقد يشكل إهانة للكرامة الإنسانية وإنكارا لمبادئ الميثاق،

It is an affront to human dignity and a violation of fundamental human rights, the geographic reach of which is now understood to extend well beyond those countries historically considered to be its bastions.

30. Poverty was an affront to human dignity and was one of the major obstacles to the full and effective enjoyment of human rights.

The Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief sends a strong message by proclaiming, in article 3, that " discrimination between human beings on the grounds of religion or belief constitutes an affront to human dignity and a disavowal of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations " .
ويبعث الإعلان بشأن القضاء على جميع أشكال التعصب والتمييز القائمين على أساس الدين أو المعتقد برسالة قوية بتصريحه في المادة 3 بأن ' ' التمييز بين البشر على أساس الدين أو المعتقد [يشكل] إهانة للكرامة الإنسانية وإنكارا لمبادئ ميثاق الأمم المتحدة``.

60. Moreover, even when body searches are necessary for prison security, they must always be conducted with respect for human dignity. Strip searches must be prohibited because they are degrading, invasive and an affront to human dignity.
60- علاوة على ذلك، ورغم أهمية التفتيش اليدوي لأمن المؤسسات الجنائية، ينبغي أن يتم هذا الإجراء على الدوم انطلاقاً من احترام كرامة الإنسان، وبالتالي يجدر حظر التفتيش الذي يتم عن طريق تعرية الأشخاص باعتباره يشكل إهانة للكرامة الإنسانية وخرقاً لها وتعدياً عليها().

" Discrimination between human beings on grounds of religion or belief constitutes an affront to human dignity and a disavowal of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, and shall be condemned as a violation of the human rights and fundamental freedoms proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights [of 1948] " .

44. From the standpoint of the present study, there is ambiguity in the scope of application of the 1981 Declaration. Where the text defines discrimination and intolerance or states that " discrimination between human beings on the grounds of religion or belief constitutes an affront to human dignity " (art. 3), the focus appears more on protecting freedom of religion and belief, especially in situations of religious or denominational plurality.
44- بل وهناك، من وجهة نظر دراستنا، شيء من الغموض فيما يتعلق بمجال تطبيق إعلان 1981: فالواقع أنه عندما يعرّف التمييز أو التعصب ويعلن أن " التمييز بين البشر على أساس الدين أو المعتقد يشكل إهانة للكرامة الإنسانية ... " (المادة 3)، فإن المقصود على ما يبدو أكثر من أي شيء أخر هو حماية حرية الدين والمعتقد،
