(a) At the time of deposit of its instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval of or accession to this Convention, inform the Secretary-General of the United Nations whether it will take this Convention as the legal basis for cooperation on extradition with other States Parties to this Convention; and
(أ) أن تبلّغ الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، وقت إيداعها صك التصديق على هذه الاتفاقية أو قبولها أو إقرارها أو الانضمام إليها، بما إذا كانت ستعتبر هذه الاتفاقية هي الأساس القانوني للتعاون بشأن التسليم مع سائر الدول الأطراف في هذه الاتفاقية؛

Article 64: " 1. Any State may, when signing this Convention or when depositing its instrument of ratification, make a reservation in respect of any particular provision of the Convention to the extent that any law then in force in its territory is not in conformity with the provision.

The Government of the Republic of Cyprus wishes to notify that its reservations and declarations made on 22nd January 1971 when depositing its instrument of Ratification with regard to the European Convention on Extradition of 13th December 1957 are still valid.
تود حكومة جمهورية قبرص الإبلاغ عن استمرار سريان التحفظات والإعلانات التي قدمتها في 22 كانون الثاني/يناير 1971 إبان إيداعها صك التصديق على الاتفاقية الأوروبية المتعلقة بتسليم المجرمين المؤرخة 13 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1957.

Some speakers noted that article 16, paragraph 5 (a), of the Convention required States parties that made extradition conditional on the existence of a treaty at the time of deposit of their instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval of or accession to the Convention to inform the Secretary-General whether they would take the Convention as the legal basis for cooperation on extradition with other States parties.
48- ولاحظ بعض المتكلمين أن الفقرة 5 (أ) من المادة 16 من الاتفاقية تقتضي من الدول الأطراف التي تجعل تسليم المجرمين مشروطا بوجود معاهدة أن تبلّغ الأمين العام، وقت إيداعها صك التصديق على الاتفاقية أو قبولها أو إقرارها أو الانضمام إليها، بما إذا كانت ستعتبر هذه الاتفاقية هي الأساس القانوني للتعاون على تسليم المجرمين مع سائر الدول الأطراف.
