As a member of the New Agenda Coalition and the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative, Mexico has submitted several working papers in the framework of the sessions of the Preparatory Committee for the eleventh Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty to be held in 2015, thus implementing actions 3, 4 and 5 of the 2010 action plan.

The New Agenda Coalition has submitted two working papers on verification and transparency in nuclear matters, promoting application of the principles of irreversibility, verifiability and transparency in relation to the implementation of the obligations of States parties to the Treaty (action 2).
44 - وقدَّم ائتلاف جدول الأعمال الجديد ورقتيْ عمل بشأن التحقق والشفافية في الأمور النووية مع تعزيز تطبيق مبادئ عدم الرجوع وإمكانية التحقق والشفافية فيما يتصل بتنفيذ توصيات الدول الأطراف في المعاهدة (الإجراء 2).

The draft resolution also reaffirms the NAC's belief that nuclear disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation are mutually reinforcing processes requiring urgent, irreversible progress on both fronts.
كما أن مشروع القرار يؤكد مجدداً على اعتقاد ائتلاف جدول الأعمال الجديد بأن نزع السلاح النووي وعدم الانتشار النووي عمليتان تدعم كل منهما الأخرى، وتتطلبان تحقيق تقدم بسرعة وعلى نحو لا يمكن الرجوع عنه على كلا الجبهتين.

The general thrust of the draft resolution, in our view, is totally compatible with NAC positions, as presented recently to the first session of the Preparatory Committee for the 2010 NPT Review Conference, held in Vienna last May.

This year's NAC draft resolution coincides with the sixtieth anniversary of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and with the lack of any substantive outcome of the 2005 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), as well as with the inability of the recent General Assembly summit to reach agreement on matters relating to nuclear disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation.
