In that regard, the Meeting highlighted the complementarities of the Organized Crime Convention and the Protocols thereto, the Convention against Corruption and the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

Pursuant to article 12, paragraph 13, of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988, the Commission should review periodically the adequacy and propriety of Table I and Table II of the Convention.

The procedures for the scheduling of substances under the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961 as amended by the 1972 Protocol and under the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971 are described in annex I. The scheduling provisions of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988 are summarized in annex II.

Bearing in mind the wording of the new sub-item, the document deals mainly with the scheduling procedures under the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961 as amended by the 1972 Protocol and the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971, which are also outlined in annex I. The relevant provisions of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988 are summarized in annex II.

It was recommended that Governments should re-examine their policies and procedures regarding controlled delivery to ensure that measures are in place to ensure that they are compliant with their obligations under the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988 (the 1988 Convention).
4- أُوصي بأن تعيد الحكومات النظر في سياساتها وإجراءاتها المتعلقة بالتسليم المراقَب على نحو يضمن توافر تدابير تكفل امتثال الحكومات لالتزاماتها بموجب اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الاتِّجار غير المشروع في المخدِّرات والمؤثرات العقلية لسنة 1988 (اتفاقية 1988).

Participants spoke of the need to maintain effective control over the precursor chemicals in Tables I and II of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of 1988, because organized criminal groups were diverting " pre-precursors " and non-scheduled substances not under international control to produce new psychoactive substances and other amphetamine-type substances.
