The Conference of the Parties noted with appreciation the key messages of the Committee on enabling environments for and barriers to technology development and transfer, and noted that the Committee was undertaking further work on such issues, as well as on technology road maps and technology needs assessments.

35. The particular needs and technological issues associated with adaptation are being addressed by the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the secretariat within the updated Handbook for Conducting technology needs Assessment (TNA) for Climate Change, which will be published in the second half of 2010.
35- ويعكف برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، بالشراكة مع الأمانة، على تناول الاحتياجات الخاصة والقضايا التكنولوجية المرتبطة بالتكيف في إطار النسخة المحدثة من دليل إجراء تقديرات احتياجات التكنولوجيا في مجال تغير المناخ الذي سينشر في النصف الثاني من عام 2010.

To make available to Parties at SBSTA 21 the most recent version of the handbook for conducting technology needs assessments for climate change and, to the extent possible, translate the handbook into other official languages of the United Nations;

It agreed to take into account the synthesis of technology needs assessments for adaptation, information relating to technologies for adaptation in national communications and national adaptation programmes of action, the technical paper on the application of technologies for adaptation, and relevant deliberations by the SBSTA, in the consideration of further activities.
