The General Assembly, at its fifty-second session, adopted the Model Strategies and Practical Measures on the Elimination of Violence against Women in the Field of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (resolution 52/86, annex), as a model for guidelines to be used by Governments in their efforts to address, within the criminal justice system, the various manifestations of violence against women.

The Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Division of the United Nations Secretariat prepared a new international instrument on violence against women — Model Strategies and Practical Measures on the Elimination of Violence against Women in the field of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice — which was adopted by the Economic and Social Council and continued its technical advisory activities.
وأعدت شعبة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية التابعة لﻷمانة العامة لﻷمم المتحدة صكا دوليا جديدا بشأن العنف ضد المرأة عنوانه " استراتيجيات نموذجية وتدابير عملية للقضاء على العنف ضد المرأة في مجال منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية " ، اعتمده المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، وواصلت الشعبة أنشطتها لتقديم المشورة التقنية.

16. The General Assembly, in its resolution 52/86 of 12 December 1997, adopted the Model Strategies and Practical Measures on the Elimination of Violence against Women in the Field of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which have been put forward as a model of guidelines to be used by Governments in their efforts, within the criminal justice system, to address the various manifestations of violence against women.
١٦ - واعتمدت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٥٢/٨٦ المؤرخ ١٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٧، استراتيجيات نموذجية وتدابير عملية بشأن القضاء على العنف ضد المرأة في ميدان منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية، قدمت كنموذج لمبادئ توجيهية تستخدمها الحكومات في الجهود التي تبذلها للتصدي لمختلف مظاهر العنف ضد المرأة في إطار نظام العدالة الجنائية.
