The people of Western Sahara would have the final say on any negotiated terms, in a referendum of self-determination.
وأكد أن شعب الصحراء الغربية سيكون له القول الأخير بشأن أي شروط يجري التفاوض عليها، في استفتاء لتقرير المصير.

ومن ثم لا بد أن تُحلّ وفقا لميثاق الأمم المتحدة، وفي هذا السياق، وفقا للقرارات والأحكام الصادرة عن هيئاتها العليا، والتي ما انفكت تؤكد بشكل لا لبس فيه حق شعب الصحراء الغربية غير القابل للتصرف في تقرير مستقبله بصورة ديمقراطية وسلمية عن طريق استفتاء لتقرير المصير.

The Security Council has not suspended the Settlement Plan, nor has it abandoned its commitment to secure a just and lasting solution to the question of Western Sahara through the holding of the referendum on self-determination in accordance with the Settlement Plan.
ولم يعلق مجلس اﻷمن خطة التسوية كما لم يتخل عن التزامه بتحقيق حل عادل ودائم لمسألة الصحراء الغربية من خلال إجراء استفتاء لتقرير المصير وفقا لخطة التسوية.
