6.1 The components and activities of phase 1: defining the green belt path, formulating project implementation plans and conducting social and economic studies, including:
6-1 مكونات وأنشطة المرحلة الأولى: تحديد مسار الأحزمة الخضراء ووضع الخطط التنفيذية للمشروع وإجراء الدراسات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، وتشمل:

Conducting economic and social studies with the goal of developing the communities living in affected areas on the green belt path and raising their awareness of the dangers of erroneous practices in the exploitation of natural resources and the dangers of desertification;
:: القيام بإجراء الدراسات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية بهدف تنمية المجتمعات البشرية القاطنة في المناطق المتأثرة على مسار الأحزمة الخضراء وتوعيتها بمخاطر الممارسات الخاطئة في استثمار الموارد الطبيعية ومخاطر التصحر.

The fight against desertification is a part of the integrated activities for sustainable development and includes various measures and a range of means, including creating green belts and increasing the green space in desert regions and regions at risk of desertification.
وتعد مكافحة التصحر جزء من الأنشطة المتكاملة للتنمية المستدامة، وتشمل إجراءات مختلفة ووسائل متنوعة، منها إقامة الأحزمة الخضراء وزيادة الرقعة الخضراء في المناطق المتصحرة أو المعرضة للتصحر.

There is no doubt that the green belts project will make a significant and positive contribution to addressing this issue by stopping desert drift and soil erosion, stabilising sand dunes and increasing the green space in various regions of the Arab world.
ولا شك أن مشروع الأحزمة الخضراء يقدم مساهمة مميزة وإيجابية في معالجة هذه القضية عن طريق وقف زحف الصحراء وانجراف التربة وتثبيت الكثبان الرملية وزيادة الرقعة الخضراء في مختلف أقاليم الوطن العربي.

The Government promotes labour-intensive infrastructure development for organized youth groups undertaking agricultural activities in green belts around urban centres, to absorb unemployed young people.
