This has revealed that trafficked persons are frequently left without remedies or the support necessary to access them, a situation that exacerbates the risk of further human rights violations including through retrafficking.

Additionally, countries must take steps, including those for training and accountability, to recognize and address the demand created for trafficked persons by their own military forces.

The First Aid Kit is not intended as a substitute for an in-depth, specialized response to trafficking in persons, but it is intended to be used as a tool to help those who may come into contact with trafficked persons to take the vital first steps to protect victims and apprehend the criminals involved.
ولا يُقصد من دليل الإسعافات الأولية أن يكون بديلاً لتدبير متعمّق ومتخصّص للتصدي للاتجار بالأشخاص، بل أن يستخدم كأداة لمساعدة الذين قد يتعاملون مع الأشخاص المتّجر بهم على اتخاذ الخطوات الأولى الضرورية لحماية الضحايا والقبض على المجرمين.
