15. Urges States to take all appropriate measures so that children who are victims of human trafficking are not subject to criminal sanctions for their involvement in unlawful activities to the extent that such involvement is a direct consequence of their situation as trafficked persons;

18. The Committee commends the State party for the significant efforts made to develop databases, notably on child victims of trafficking and children in alternative care settings.

Protecting child victims of trafficking and enhancing cooperation with third countries and international organizations was a priority and part of the European Union Strategy towards the eradication of trafficking in human beings 2012-2016.

The Committee welcomes the efforts made by the State party to develop support services for child victims of trafficking, including the adoption of the Protocol on Pre-Rescue, Rescue and Post-Rescue Operations of child victims of trafficking for Commercial Sexual Exploitation (2005) and the Protocol on Prevention, Rescue, Repatriation and Rehabilitation of Trafficked and Migrant Child Labour (2008).
