91. Further, article 8 of Law No. 7853/1989 classifies a variety of discriminatory acts against persons with disabilities:

We do not recognize that the present situation of Japan is one in which discriminatory acts cannot be effectively restrained by the existing legal system and in which explicit acts of racial discrimination, which cannot be restrained by measures other than legislation are committed.

Manifestations of discrimination are prohibited under the Constitution and other laws of Cuba and are considered " offences against the right to equality " , as provided for in article 295 of the Criminal Code, which specifically criminalizes such discriminatory acts.

In addition, there are countries where the right to equality before the law concerns only official acts, or laws or acts of the Government or its agents; it does not extend to discriminatory acts of private persons or entities.

(b) Consider withdrawing or narrowing its reservation to article 2 of the Convention and broaden the protection afforded by law against all discriminatory acts perpetrated by private individuals, groups or organizations;

40 - وعلى الدول أن تتخذ تدابير فعاّلة لوقف جميع الأعمال التمييزية التي تستهدف الشعوب الأصلية بناء على خرافات وفهم خاطئ لممارسة الزراعة المتنقلة وما يتصل بها من أعراف وتقاليد اجتماعية وثقافية وغير ذلك من أعراف وتقاليد.
