26 - وأردف قائلا إنه في غياب معايير للتمييز ما بين بعثة سياسية خاصة وبعثة لحفظ السلام، ستمكّن توصيات اللجنة الاستشارية الأمانة العامة ومجلس الأمن من تحويل أي بعثة ميدانية إلى بعثة سياسية خاصة، مما يعفي الدول الدائمة العضوية في المجلس من التزاماتها المالية لبعثات حفظ السلام.

19. The Chief of the United Nations Cartographic Section, Kyoung-Soo Eom, presented a paper entitled " Geospatial support for the United Nations Secretariat: geospatial activities by the United Nations Cartographic Section " .* The paper described the activities of the Section in supporting the geospatial requirements of the Secretariat and the Security Council.

Thus we are surprised that, in paragraph 48, the report states that " no movement has been reported by the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic on reactivating the Lebanese-Syrian border committee " . It should be noted that we provided the Secretary-General with a detailed listing of those meetings and that we will continue to inform him and the Security Council of future meetings.
وفي هذا السياق، نعرب عن الاستغراب مما ورد في الفقرة 48 من تقرير الأمين العام بأنه " لم يبلغ عن أي تحرك من جانب حكومة الجمهورية العربية السورية لإعادة تنشيط لجنة الحدود السورية - اللبنانية " ، علما بأننا كنا قد وافينا السيد الأمين العام والسيد رئيس مجلس الأمن بقائمة مفصلة عن هذه الاجتماعات، وسوف نـستمـر في تزويد الأمانة العامة ومجلس الأمن بالاجتماعات التي ستُعقد لاحقا.
