Chapter I is an introduction to the action taken by the secretariat regarding decision 30/COP.10 and the written proposals received by the Secretariat from Parties and interested institutions and organizations.

The Conference of the Parties has before it a note by the Secretariat on reporting pursuant to Article 15 of the Convention (UNEP/POPS/COP.4/29) and on an analysis of reports received by the Secretariat from Parties (UNEP/POPS/COP.4/INF/27).

The comments and views received by the Secretariat from Parties and others in response to the Openended Working Group's request in decision OEWG-VI/16, and proposals on the development of a draft decision, are contained in document UNEP/CHW.9/INF/27.

The Conference of the Parties has before it notes by the Secretariat on reporting pursuant to Article 15 of the Convention (UNEP/POPS/COP.5/29), on an analysis of reports received by the Secretariat from Parties (UNEP/POPS/COP.5/INF/23) and on the user manual for the electronic system for reporting pursuant to Article 15 of the Convention (UNEP/POPS/COP.5/INF/24).
