1. At its 8th meeting, on 10 May 2007, the Working Group examined a report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict in Somalia, introduced by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (S/2007/259).

His delegation reiterated the need for the reports of the Secretary-General on children to contain verified information from the relevant Governments and entities, and for that information to be shared with Governments before its inclusion in the reports, giving Governments an opportunity to give their point of view, which would lend the reports added credibility.
ويكرر وفده الدعوة مجددا إلى ضرورة أن تتضمن تقارير الأمين العام بشأن الأطفال معلومات مؤكدة ومستقاة من الحكومات والكيانات ذات الصلة، على أن يجري تبادل أي معلومات مع الحكومات قبل تضمينها في التقارير المعنية، وإعطاء الحكومات الفرصة لإسماع وجهة نظرها، مما يضفي مزيدا من المصداقية على هذه التقارير.

The Office of the Special Representative has also engaged regularly with a number of UNICEF national committees, particularly in Germany, Japan and Spain, and has made a practice of briefing, consulting and soliciting inputs from NGOs in the preparation of the annual report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict.
كما شارك مكتب الممثل الخاص بشكل منتظم في أعمال عدد من اللجان الوطنية التابعة لليونيسيف، ولا سيما في إسبانيا، وألمانيا، واليابان. واعتاد الممثل الخاص إطلاع المنظمات غير الحكومية على المستجدات والتشاور معها والتماس مساهماتها أثناء إعداد التقرير السنوي الذي يقدمه الأمين العام بشأن الأطفال والصراعات المسلحة.

Since a number of situations included in the report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict are in the Arab region, the Special Representative continued to engage with the League of Arab States, in follow-up to her previous visit to the headquarters of the League in Cairo in 2012.

5. The Working Group agreed to address a message to all parties to armed conflict in the Philippines, in particular those groups mentioned in the report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict, through a public statement by the Chairman on behalf of the Working Group:
