The Group of 77 and China requested that recently announced cutbacks in conference and other support services should be considered under agenda item 123 on the programme budget for the biennium 2002-2003. The Group intended to make a statement on that important question, which was having a negative impact on the work of the Organization and in particular, on its own functioning.
