7. The changing nature of the deliberating process of intergovernmental organs has led to an increasing demand for medium-sized rooms for round tables, briefings, meetings of regional and other major groupings, extended bureaux, etc.

110. The view was expressed that the issue of a comprehensive solution for providing conference services to meetings of regional and other major groupings of Member States had not been addressed within the proposed programme budget and that the relevant proposals had yet to be submitted by the Secretary-General in line with provisions of General Assembly resolution 57/283 B.
110 - وأُعرب عن آراء مفادها أن الميزانية البرنامجية المقترحة لم تتناول مسألة إيجاد حل شامل فيما يتعلق بتوفير خدمات المؤتمرات لاجتماعات الأفرقة الإقليمية والتجمعات الرئيسية الأخرى للدول الأعضاء، وأنه يتعين على الأمين العام أن يقدم المقترحات المناسبة بما يتفق مع أحكام قرار الجمعية العامة 57/283 باء.

The percentage of meetings of regional and other major groupings of Member States provided with interpretation services compared to the number of requests amounted to 80 per cent during 2006-2007, compared to the rate of 90 per cent in 2004-2005.
ارتفعت النسبة المئوية لاجتماعات المجموعات الإقليمية والتجمعات الرئيسية الأخرى للدول الأعضاء، التي تقدم لها خدمات الترجمة الشفوية، بالقياس إلى عدد الطلبات إلى 80 في المائة خلال الفترة 2006-2007، مقابل 90 في المائة خلال الفترة 2004-2005.
