My Government would be grateful if the Security Council went beyond simply taking note of the offensives being conducted by these countries in Congolese territory and strongly condemned the aggression to which the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been subjected since 2 August 1998 by the armed coalition of Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.

77. At the same time, the Governments of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Uganda have clearly registered their concern that the presence of foreign armed groups from Uganda and Rwanda on Congolese territory continues to pose a threat to regional security and have asked that the United Nations re-examine strategies that might assist them in resolving this issue.
77 - وفي الوقت نفسه، فقد أعربت بوضوح حكومات بوروندي، وجمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، ورواند، وأوغندا، عن قلقها من أن وجود جماعات مسلحة أجنبية من أوغندا ورواندا في الإقليم الكونغولي ما زال يشكل خطرا على الأمن الإقليمي وطلبت أن تقوم الأمم المتحدة بإعادة فحص الاستراتيجيات التي قد تساعدها على حل هذه المسألة.
