As already noted, the share of overall ODA in the GNP of the 21 DAC countries has fallen to its lowest level ever.

In the period from 1993 to 2008, total contributions for operational activities for development grew at a faster pace than overall official development assistance flows from Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)/Development Assistance Committee (DAC) countries (excluding debt relief).

It also reiterates the call for the international community to " strive for the fulfilment of the agreed target of 0.7 per cent of gross national product for overall official development assistance and endeavour to increase the share of funding for population and development programmes commensurate with the scope and scale of activities required to achieve the objectives and goals " of the Programme of Action (para. 14.11).
كما يعيد تأكيد " دعوته المجتمع الدولي إلى السعي جاهدا للوفاء بالهدف المتفق عليه وهو تخصيص 0.7 في المائة من الناتج القومي الإجمالي للمساعدة الإنمائية الرسمية عموما وبذل الجهود لزيادة حصة التمويل المخصص لبرامج السكان والتنمية بما يتناسب مع حجم ونطاق الأنشطة اللازمة لتحقيق أهداف ومقاصد " برنامج العمل هذا (الفقرة 14-11).

Some donor countries have achieved or exceeded the accepted United Nations targets to allocate 0.7 per cent of GNP for overall ODA and 0.15 per cent of GNP for ODA for the least developed countries and are encouraged to continue to do so.
