Despite this assertion and the letters of 29 July and 19 August 1993 of the Chairman of the Committee (S/AC.27/1993/OC.5148 and S/AC.27/1993/OC.6445), as well as recent promises made by the Federal Minister of Transport of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) to eliminate the blockade, the competent authorities in Belgrade have taken no measures to remedy the situation.

A recent example of this can be seen in the letter dated 29 June 1994 from the Deputy Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the " Federal Republic of Yugoslavia " (Serbia and Montenegro) addressed to the Secretary-General (A/49/218-S/1994/801), in which he claimed that, in reference to the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, " Serbs were almost the only ones who declared themselves Yugoslavs " .
