24. The Advisory Committee welcomes the improvements aimed at making the senior managers' compacts a more powerful instrument of accountability.

Notes with concern that there is little evidence that senior managers' compacts have had any real impact on enhancing accountability, and requests the Secretary-General, in this regard, to pursue concrete measures to ensure that the compact system becomes a powerful instrument of the accountability system;

25.5 The Department of Management will facilitate institutional and senior managers' accountability through: the preparation of programme performance reports for presentation to the intergovernmental organs; the monitoring and administration of senior managers' compacts; and the provision of substantive support to the Management Performance Board.
25-5 وستتولى إدارة الشؤون الإدارية تيسير المساءلة على صعيد المؤسسة وكبار المديرين عن طريق ما يلي: إعداد تقارير الأداء البرنامجي لعرضها على الأجهزة الحكومية الدولية؛ ورصد الاتفاقات المبرمة مع كبار المديرين وإدارتها؛ وتقديم الدعم الفني إلى مجلس الأداء الإداري.

14. The Advisory Committee recalls its previous observations that the senior managers' compacts are an instrument for accountability and reiterates that senior managers have a special responsibility to set the appropriate tone and to model exemplary conduct for the staff in their respective areas (see A/67/776, para. 24).
