Accordingly, the Economic Cooperation Organization requests that it be granted observer status to the General Assembly of the United Nations on terms similar to those that have been prescribed in respect of other regional associations of States.

In the multilateral area, the International Atomic Energy Agency was the most suitable forum for designing a strategy to combat such illicit trafficking; such a strategy was not incompatible with the efforts being made in other regional organizations.
وفي المجال المتعدد اﻷطراف، فإن الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية هي اﻷقدر على وضع استراتيجية لمكافحة هذا الاتجار، بدون الاخلال بالجهود التي يمكن للهيئات الاقليمية اﻷخرى استخدامها من جانبها.

It would be important that such regional arrangements be adopted by other regional organizations as well, as they can in certain circumstances provide a more appropriate regional focus to the solution of minority problems.

III. What should be the responsibilities of regional organizations or other regional arrangements concerning the two types of fish stocks? These may be, inter alia, the following:
ثالثا - ماذا ينبغي أن تكون مسؤوليات المنظمات الاقليمية أو الترتيبات الاقليمية اﻷخرى فيما يتعلق بنوعي اﻷرصدة السمكية؟ هذه المسؤوليات يمكن، في جملة أمور، أن تكون ما يلي:

We also note the measures recently taken to strengthen the Economic and Social Council's central role in establishing and coordinating joint policies, as well as the initiatives of the Economic Commission for Europe and other regional Commissions in redefining their priorities.
