Pledges due but not received are written off after five years unless the donor has reconfirmed the commitment in writing not more than 18 months before the end of the accounting period, or has confirmed in writing during the financial year that payments against pledges due will no longer be made to the organization.
وتشطب التبرعات المعلنة المستحقة القبض ولكن لم تُستًلم بعد خمس سنوات ما لم يجدد المانح تأكيد الالتزام خطيا قبل انتهاء الفترة المحاسبية بثمانية عشر شهرا على الأكثر، أو أن يكون قد أكد خطيا خلال السنة المالية أن المدفوعات المستحقة وفقا للتبرع المعلن سوف لن تقدم إلى المنظمة.

15. Pledges due but not received are written off after five years unless the donor has reconfirmed the commitment in writing not more than 18 months before the end of the accounting period, or after the donor has confirmed in writing that payments against the pledges due will no longer be made to the organization.
15 - وتشطب التبرعات المعلنة المستحقة القبض ولكن لم تُستلم بعد خمس سنوات ما لم يجدد المانح تأكيد الالتزام خطيا قبل انتهاء الفترة المحاسبية بثمانية عشر شهرا على الأكثر، أو أن يكون قد أكد خطيا خلال السنة المالية أن المدفوعات المستحقة وفقا للتبرع المعلن لن تقدم إلى المنظمة.

The reasons for using these are many and varied: they create stability despite personnel changes in either agency; making a commitment in writing makes agencies less likely to attempt to evade responsibility, but it also makes it less likely that they will be asked to do more than they should; and a written document serves to reduce uncertainties surrounding the role and responsibilities of each party.
وتتعدد أسباب استخدام تلك الاتفاقات الخطية وتتنوع: فهي تمنح استقرارا على الرغم من تغير موظفي أي وكالة؛ كما أن تدوين الالتزام خطيا يقلل من احتمال سعي الوكالات إلى التهرب من المسؤولية، إلا أنه يقلل أيضا من احتمال أن يُـطلب منها أن تقوم بما يتجاوز التزاماتها؛ وتفيد الوثيقة الخطية في الحد من الشكوك التي تكتنف دور كل طرف ومسؤولياته.
