The delegation of New Zealand stressed that its proposal for an optional protocol would leave the regime of the 1994 Convention intact for those States that preferred to be bound exclusively by its provisions, while allowing States that wished to expand the scope of the 1994 Convention to do so by becoming parties to the protocol as well as to the Convention.

(e) Calling upon all States to consider becoming parties to the Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel and its Optional Protocol, and urging States parties to take steps to enable its effective implementation;

1- تحثُّ الدولَ التي لم تصبح بعد أطرافا في اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظَّمة عبر الوطنية والبروتوكولات الملحقة بها() واتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الفساد() وسائر الاتفاقيات ذات الصلة، على أن تنظر في الانضمام كأطراف إلى تلك الصكوك وأن تتخذ التدابير المناسبة لضمان تنفيذها تنفيذا فعّالا؛
