35. The Committee encourages the State party to remove its declaration under article 10, paragraph 1, of the Optional Protocol to the Convention regarding the competence of the Committee under articles 8 and 9, and to accept, as soon as possible, the amendment to article 20, paragraph 1, of the Convention concerning the meeting time of the Committee.

In addition, Belgium was in the process of ratifying the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.

At that session, the Committee considered the reports submitted by seven States parties to the Convention, two States parties to the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the involvement of children in armed conflict and one State party to the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.

The Committee also invites the State party to submit its initial reports under the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the involvement of children in armed conflict, due on 2 March 2009, as soon as possible.
وتدعو اللجنة أيضاً الدولة الطرف أن تُقدم تقاريرها الأولية بموجب البروتوكول الاختياري للاتفاقية بشأن اشتراك الأطفال في المنازعات المسلحة، المقرر تقديمها في 2 آذار/مارس 2009، في أقرب أجل ممكن.

62. Jordan was following with interest the progress in drafting the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the right to petition. It believed, however, that the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties of 1969 did not accord human-rights treaties special status in respect of immunity from reservations.
٦٢ - وأردفت قائلة إن اﻷردن يتابع باهتمام التقدم المحرز في صياغة البروتوكول الاختياري للاتفاقية بشأن الحق في تقديم الالتماسات بيد أنه يرى أن اتفاقية فيينا لقانون المعاهدات لعام ١٩٦٩ لم تعط معاهدات حقوق اﻹنسان مركزا خاصا فيما يتعلق بالحصانة من التحفظات.

3. As at 12 December 2003, the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the involvement of children in armed conflict, which entered into force on 12 February 2002, had been signed by 115 States and ratified by 67 States.
3- وفي 20 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2003، وصل عدد الدول التي وقعت على البروتوكول الاختياري للاتفاقية بشأن إشراك الأطفال في الصراعات المسلحة، الذي دخل حيز النفاذ في 12 شباط/فبراير 2002 إلى 115 دولة، بينما وصل عدد التي صدقت عليه 67 دولة.

7. Furthermore, the Committee had received 101 reports and 1 second periodic report under the Optional Protocol on the involvement of children in armed conflict, and 87 reports and 1 second periodic report under the Optional Protocol on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.

166.
