Encouraged African countries to continue their efforts for the promotion of peace and stability and strengthening of their economic and legal framework, which are essential factors for the strengthening of their economic and social development and the enhancement of their participation in international trade;

Encourages also African countries to continue to work closely with the United Nations Secretariat and United Nations regional offices in the implementation of measures aimed at securing peace, security, stability, democracy and sustainable development consistent with the objectives of the New Partnership for Africa's Development;

In 2012 and 2013, it collaborated with the Economic Commission for Africa, the African Union and the World Bank in helping African countries to further develop and negotiate a draft intergovernmental agreement on the Trans-African Highway.
