In spite of efforts made by various organizations, such as WTO, FAO, UNIDO and other bodies, in the area of quality control and health and hygiene standards, it was recognized that small and medium-size enterprises in developing countries still faced enormous difficulties in accessing information.
٢٢- وعلى الرغم من الجهود التي تبذلها شتى المنظمات، مثل منظمة التجارة العالمية ومنظمة اﻷمم المتحدة لﻷغذية والزراعة ومنظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية، في مجال مراقبة الجودة ومعايير الصحة والتدابير الصحية، فقد جرى التسليم بأن المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة الحجم في البلدان النامية لا تزال تواجه صعوبات هائلة في الحصول على المعلومات.

Mr. BIVERO (Venezuela) said that, while the current world economic situation gave rise to a certain degree of optimism, the developing countries continued to face uncertainties about the necessary conditions for their development, namely, the opening of markets to exports from developing countries, the stabilization of commodity prices, long term solutions to the external debt crisis and the continuity of flows of public and private capital.
