NEAFC has an agreement with the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) for the provision of scientific advice, and with the Commission of the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR), which has a mandate to protect and conserve the marine environment in the North-East Atlantic.
