12. The membership of the Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment of the Committee against Torture for 2007 is as follows:
12 - تتألف عضوية اللجنة الفرعية لمنع التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب، في عام 2007 من الأعضاء التالية أسماؤهم:

The Protocol, which had entered into force in 2006, had established a system of regular visits to places of detention by the Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment of the Committee against Torture, complemented by regular visits conducted by independent national bodies.
فقد أرسى هذا البروتوكول، الذي دخل حيِّز النفاذ في عام 2006، نظاماً يتيح للجنة الفرعية لمنع التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة، التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب، القيام بزيارات منتظمة إلى أماكن الاحتجاز تدعمها زيارات منتظمة تقوم بها هيئات وطنية مستقلة.

286. With regard to initiatives taken at the international level, the representative mentioned, in particular, his Government's support of efforts aimed at providing for the operation and expenses of all human rights treaty bodies, including those of the Committee against Torture, from the United Nations regular budget.
٢٨٦ - وفيما يتصل بالمبادرات المتخذة على الصعيد الدولي، ذكر الممثل بصورة خاصة دعم حكومة بلده للجهود الرامية الى التكفل بعمل ونفقات جميع الهيئات التعاهدية لحقوق الانسان بما فيها الهيئات التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب، من ميزانية اﻷمم المتحدة العادية.

69. The Subcommittee of the Committee against Torture will initially consist of 10 independent, multidisciplinary experts who will conduct regular visits to places of detention in States parties similar to those carried out by CPT.
69 - وسوف تتألف اللجنة الفرعية التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب بصفة مبدئية من 10 خبراء مستقلين متعددي التخصصات سيقومون بزيارات دورية لأماكن الاحتجاز في الدول الأطراف مماثلة للزيارات التي تقوم بها لجنة منع التعذيب.

13. The Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment of the Committee against Torture held its first and second sessions at the United Nations Office at Geneva from 19 to 23 February 2007 and from 25 to 29 June 2007, respectively.
13 - وقد عقدت اللجنة الفرعية لمنع التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب، دورتيها الأولى والثانية في مكتب الأمم المتحدة بجنيف في الفترة من 19 إلى 23 شباط/فبراير 2007، وفي الفترة من 25 إلى 29 حزيران/يونيه 2007، على التوالي.

11. Takes note of the contribution received from the Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment of the Committee against Torture and other submissions received for consideration, and underlines in this regard the valuable contribution of civil society in this process;
11- تحيط علماً بالمساهمة التي قدَّمتها اللجنة الفرعية لمنع التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة، التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب، وغيرها من المساهمات التي وردت للنظر فيها،() وتشدِّد في هذا الصدد على الإسهام القيِّم للمجتمع المدني في تلك العملية؛

(a) The Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment of the Committee against Torture (2008);
(أ) اللجنة الفرعية المعنية بمنع التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب (2008)؛

11. Takes note of the contribution received from the Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment of the Committee against Torture and other submissions received for consideration, and underlines in this regard the valuable contribution of civil society in this process;
11 - تحيط علما بالمساهمة التي قدمتها اللجنة الفرعية لمنع التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة التابعة للجنة مناهضة التعذيب وغيرها من المساهمات التي وردت للنظر فيها()، وتشدد في هذا الصدد على الإسهام القيم للمجتمع المدني في تلك العملية؛

50. Mr. de Barros (Acting Secretary of the Committee) said that it was stated in article 2, paragraph 1, of the draft Optional Protocol annexed to draft resolution A/C.3/57/L.30 that a Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment of the Committee against Torture should be established and carry out the functions laid down in the Protocol.
