22. The Committee encourages the State party to implement temporary special measures in accordance with article 4, paragraph 1, of the Convention and the Committee's general recommendation No. 25, and to ensure that they have a clear legislative basis, either in the Constitution or in other appropriate legislation.

The Committee recommends that the State party take measures, in particular temporary special measures in accordance with article 4, paragraph 1, of the Convention and the Committee's general recommendation No. 25 and general recommendation No. 23 (1997) on women in political and public life, so as to accelerate the achievement of women's full and equal participation at all levels and in all areas.
