As part of the longer-term study of the administrative arrangements between the United Nations and UNJSPF, the issue of the appropriate sharing of both internal and external audit costs would have to be reviewed.

2. It was reasonable for the Pension Fund to defray the full increase in external audit costs, so that 60 per cent of the costs would be met by the United Nations and 40 per cent by the Pension Fund, pending the concept paper on administrative arrangements between the Fund and the Organization.

31. The Secretary also indicated that the inevitable result of changing significantly the administrative arrangements between the Fund and the United Nations would be a substantial increase in the administrative expenses to be charged against the resources of the Fund.
