3. Advance the Science-Policy Interface
3- تحقيق تقدم فيما يتصل بهيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات

We strongly advocate that the proposed Science-Policy Interface (SPI) established at this COP will enhance policy directives under this Convention.
ونؤيد بقوة المقترح المتعلق بهيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات التي أنشئت في الدورة الحالية لمؤتمر الأطراف والتي من شأنها أن تعزز التوجيهات السياساتية في إطار الاتفاقية.

Pursuant to the provisions of decision 21/COP.11, paragraph 16, the Bureau of the CST, in conjunction with the Science-Policy Interface and in consultation with Parties and regional groups, will review the outcomes of the UNCCD 3rd Scientific Conference prior to CST 12.
وعملاً بالأحكام الواردة في الفقرة 16 من المقرر 21/م أ-11، سيستعرض مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، إلى جانب هيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات وبالتشاور مع الأطراف والمجموعات الإقليمية، نتائج المؤتمر العلمي الثالث للاتفاقية قبل انعقاد الدورة الثانية عشرة للجنة.

The representatives attending the consultations also requested further exploration of the requirements for interactive mechanisms aimed at strengthening the interface between science and policy.
كما طلب الممثلون المشاركون في هذه المشاورات مواصلة استكشاف متطلبات إنشاء آليات تجاوبية بهدف تعزيز التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات العامة.

13. Indeed, at the global level, in line with the United Nations Forum on Forests process and its recommendations, several innovative initiatives have been established in recent years to facilitate communication among scientists, policymakers and other stakeholders with a view to improving science-policy interaction.
13 - فعلى الصعيد العالمي، وتمشيا مع عملية منتدى الأمم المتحدة المعني بالغابات وتوصياته، شهدت السنوات الأخيرة وضع عدة مبادرات مبتكرة لتيسير الاتصال بين العلماء واضعي السياسات وأصحاب المصلحة الآخرين بغية تحسين التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات.

9. Invites this consortium to analyse, synthesize and communicate to the science - policy interface scientific inputs on desertification/land degradation and drought issues;
9- يدعو هذا الاتحاد إلى تحليل الإسهامات العلمية المتعلقة بقضايا التصحر/تدهور الأراضي والجفاف وتوليفها وتبليغ هيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات بها؛

Requests the Science-Policy Interface, pursuant to decision 23/COP.11, to translate the outcomes of the UNCCD scientific conferences into recommendations for the consideration of the Committee on Science and Technology;
24- يطلب إلى هيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات القيام، عملاً بالمقرر 23/م أ-11، بترجمة الوثائق الختامية للمؤتمرات العلمية للاتفاقية إلى توصيات لكي تنظر فيها لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا؛

Requests the Science-Policy Interface to make proposals to the Bureau of the Committee on Science and Technology for the subsequent consideration of the Conference of the Parties topics for future UNCCD scientific conferences;
27- يطلب إلى هيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات تقديم مقترحات إلى مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا من أجل النظر لاحقاً في المواضيع التي يحددها مؤتمر الأطراف للمؤتمرات العلمية المقبلة للاتفاقية؛

2. Also decides that the Science-Policy Interface will function up to the end of the thirteenth session of the Conference of the Parties, at which time it will be reviewed;
2- يقرر أيضاً أن تعمل هيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات حتى نهاية الدورة الثالثة عشرة لمؤتمر الأطراف، وأن يجرى حينئذ استعراض لعملها؛

5. Also decides that the Science-Policy Interface will be co-chaired by the Chair of the Bureau of the Committee on Science and Technology and a scientist chosen by the members of the Science-Policy Interface;
5- يقرر أيضاً أن يتشارك في رئاسة هيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات كل من رئيس مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا وعالم يختاره أعضاء الهيئة؛

10. Requests the Bureau of the Committee on Science and Technology to develop and adopt the terms of reference of the Science-Policy Interface to be consistent with the mandate described in paragraph 3 above and the text of the Convention and its Regional Implementation Annexes;
10- يطلب إلى مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا وضع واعتماد اختصاصات هيئة التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات بحيث تكون متسقة مع الولاية الوارد ذكرها في الفقرة 3 أعلاه ومع نص الاتفاقية ومرفقات التنفيذ الإقليمي؛

17. In the biennium 2014 - 2015, improving the Science-Policy Interface with the aim of developing the use of scientific knowledge to support decision-making concerning the UNCCD, will be the main focus of the CST.
17- وفي فترة السنتين 2014-2015، سينصب التركيز الأساسي للجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا على تحسين التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات بهدف تطوير استخدام المعارف العلمية دعماً لصنع القرارات المتعلقة بالاتفاقية.

(a) Strengthen the Science-Policy Interface on a thematic issue at global and national level.
(أ) تعزيز التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات فيما يتعلق بمسألة مواضيعية على الصعيدين العالمي والوطني.

Invite stakeholders to submit views on their own capacity needs in the context of the activities of the Platform's work programme as well as on capacity-building needs to improve the Science-Policy Interface at appropriate levels.
دعوة أصحاب المصلحة إلى تقديم الآراء بشأن احتياجاتهم الخاصة من القدرات وذلك في سياق أنشطة برنامج عمل المنبر، وكذلك احتياجات بناء القدرات من أجل تحسين التفاعل بين العلوم والسياسات على المستويات المناسبة.

The Republic of Korea believes that IPBES will play a significant role in halting the current loss of biodiversity by strengthening the Science-Policy Interface in biodiversity and ecosystem fields.

For most environmental issues, however, data quality and quantity needed to be improved. interaction between science and policy needed to be improved through more effective intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder consultations.

26. Regional and subregional forest information promotion initiatives and research networks have been established to strengthen research capacities and to promote collaboration and the efficient provision and sharing of relevant information, with the overall goal of strengthening science-policy interaction for sustainable forest management.

Other important tasks in improving the science - policy interface include the organization of the UNCCD 3rd Scientific Conference, the development of the Scientific Knowledge Brokering Portal and the increased involvement of the scientific community in the UNCCD process.
