At its fifth session, the SBSTA recalled the need as expressed in decision 7/CP.2 to evaluate the use of the roster of experts, taking into account the ongoing discussion on intergovernmental technical advisory panels (ITAPs).
٦٢- وأشارت الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية في دورتها الخامسة إلى ضرورة تقييم الاستعانة بقائمة الخبراء على نحو ما جاء في المقرر ٧/م أ-٢، مع مراعاة المناقشة الجارية بشأن اﻷفرقة الاستشارية التقنية الحكومية الدولية.

At its second session, the COP, in its decision 7/CP.2, noted that the roster of experts andits use in facilitating the work of the Convention secretariat should be evaluated by the SBSTA and the SBI, taking into account the ongoing discussion on intergovernmental technical Advisory Panel(s) (ITAPs).
٤٢- أشار مؤتمر اﻷطراف في المقرر ٧/م أ-٢ الذي اعتمده في دورته الثانية إلى ضرورة قيام الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية والهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ بتقييم قائمة الخبراء واستخدامها في تيسير عمل أمانة الاتفاقية مع أخذ المناقشة الجارية بشأن اﻷفرقة الاستشارية التقنية الحكومية الدولية في الاعتبار.

The SBSTA also requested its Chairman to continue consultations on the establishment of the intergovernmental technical advisory panels, particularly during the week of 30 October to 3 November when the second session of the AGBM will take place in Geneva.
)ب( كما طلبت الهيئة الفرعية الى رئيسها مواصلة المشاورات بشأن إنشاء اﻷفرقة الاستشارية التقنية الحكومية الدولية ولا سيما خلال اﻷسبوع الممتد من ٠٣ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر الى ٣ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر حين تنعقد في جنيف الدورة الثانية للفريق المخصص للولاية المعتمدة في برلين.

At its first session, the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) requested its Chairman to continue consultations regarding the establishment of intergovernmental technical advisory panels on methodologies and technologies (FCCC/SBSTA/1995/3, para. 29).
١- طلبت الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية الى رئيسها في دورتها العاشرة، مواصلة المشاورات بشأن انشاء اﻷفرقة الاستشارية التقنية الحكومية الدولية بشأن المنهجيات والتكنولوجيات )FCCC/SBSTA/1995/3، الفقرة ٩٢(.

The SBSTA recognized that the intergovernmental technical advisory panel(s) had the potential to make an important contribution to the processes under the Convention and to the implementation of the Convention by Parties, in particular by providing an opportunity to draw upon the broad range of expertise available in Parties.
٦١- سلﱠمت الهيئة الفرعية بأن للفريق الاستشاري التقني الحكومي الدولي )لﻷفرقة الاستشارية التقنية الحكومية الدولية( القدرة المحتملة على تقديم إسهام هام في العملية في إطار الاتفاقية وتنفيذ اﻷطراف للاتفاقية، وبشكل خاص عن طريق توفير فرصة للاعتماد على نطاق الخبرة الواسع المتاح لدى اﻷطراف.

9. In considering the further work and inputs required under each sub-item, the AGBM may wish to identify the need for technical inputs and to assess whether these would be provided in time by the intergovernmental technical advisory panels to be established by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice.
٩- وعند النظر في اﻷعمال اﻷخرى والمدخلات المطلوبة في إطار كل بند فرعي، قد يود الفريق المخصص للولاية المعتمدة في برلين تعيين الحاجة للحصول على مدخلات تقنية وتقدير ما إذا كان يمكن تقديمها في حينها من جانب اﻷفرقة الاستشارية التقنية الحكومية الدولية المقرر أن تنشئها الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية.
