33. As far as harmonization of insurance and international payments is concerned, members of cooperation groupings may consider ratifying and implementing the Convention on International Factoring, the Convention on International Financial Leasing, the United Nations Convention on International Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes, and other international agreements.

A particularly suitable legal framework may be provided by adherence to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (Vienna, 1980) or other international instruments dealing with specific contracts, such as the UNIDROIT Convention on International Financial Leasing (Ottawa, 1988).

The legal issues involved in the competition were the Model Law on Arbitration, with amendments as adopted in 2006, the United Nations Sales Convention, the New York Convention, the Unidroit Model Law on Leasing and the Unidroit Convention on International Financial Leasing (1988). A total of 18 teams from law schools or master programmes in seven countries had participated in the Madrid Moot in Spanish.
