Memorandum of Understanding between the Georgian and the Abkhaz sides

30. I welcome the readiness expressed by the Georgian and Abkhaz sides to accept the invitation by the Government of Ukraine to the third Meeting on Confidence-building Measures, to be held in Yalta in late November.
30 - وأرحب بالاستعداد الذي أبداه الجانبان الجورجي والأبخازي بقبول دعوة حكومة أوكرانيا بحضور الاجتماع الثالث المتعلق بتدابير بناء الثقة، المقرر عقده في يالتا في أواخر تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر.

5. The Georgian and Abkhaz sides expressed gratitude for the German initiative and stated their readiness to participate in a meeting in Berlin.

31. While the Georgian and Abkhaz sides continued with practical cooperation activities, particularly in the security domain, a substantive dialogue on the key issues of the conflict is still lacking.

She continued her efforts to encourage the Abkhaz side to resume, as a first step, its participation in both the weekly quadripartite meetings, which bring together the Georgian and Abkhaz sides, UNOMIG and the collective peacekeeping forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the joint fact-finding group, which has the same participants.

In this regard, I would like to emphasize the need for both the Georgian and Abkhaz sides to actively support these efforts, not least by ensuring security and safety of those who will be working on the implementation of the projects, including UNOMIG, UNDP, the European Commission and other actors.
