Under the draft decision, the General Assembly would take note of the oral report presented at the 40th meeting of the Sixth Committee by the Chairman of the Working Group and decide that the granting of observer status in the General Assembly should in the future be confined to States and to those intergovernmental organizations whose activities cover matters of interest to the Assembly.

They lay the foundation for a unitary examination of the law of the sea and of all the related matters in the General Assembly in the future.

His delegation hoped that as a result of the continued progress and reforms implemented in Myanmar, that country would not be discussed in the General Assembly in the future.

2. The Committee will address the cost-benefit analysis, contained in annex VII to A/52/858, and submit its observations and recommendations to the General Assembly in the future.
٢ - وستعالج اللجنة تحليل نسبة الفائدة إلى التكلفة الواردة في المرفق السابع من الوثيقة A/52/858، وستقدم ملاحظاتها وتوصياتها إلى الجمعية العامة في المستقبل.

The newly adopted rules for the election of the President and the General Committee several months ahead constitute an important achievement that will enable all future General Assembly Presidents to assume their responsibilities in a smoother, better organized and more efficient way.
والقواعد الجديدة المعتمدة لانتخاب الرئيس والمكتب مسبقا قبل عدة أشهر تشكل إنجازا هاما يمكِّن جميع رؤساء الجمعية العامة في المستقبل من تحمُّل مسؤولياتهم بطريقة أسلس وأفضل تنظيما وأكثر كفاءة.

He hoped that that comment would be considered in future General Assembly resolutions on that subject.

7. In its decision 49/426, the General Assembly decided that the granting of observer status in the General Assembly should in the future be confined to States and to those intergovernmental organizations whose activities cover matters of interest to the General Assembly.
7 - قررت الجمعية العامة في مقررها 49/426 أن يقتصر منح مركز المراقب لدى الجمعية العامة في المستقبل على الدول وعلى المنظمات الحكومية الدولية التي تغطي أنشطتها مسائل ذات أهمية للجمعية العامة.

10. Moreover, the criteria set forth in General Assembly decision 49/426, namely, that " the granting of observer status in the General Assembly should in the future be confined to States and to those intergovernmental organizations whose activities cover matters of interest to the Assembly " , were somewhat general and needed further clarification.
10 - يضاف إلى ذلك أن المعايير المذكورة في مقرر الجمعية العامة 49/426، أي " أن يقتصر منح مركز المراقب في الجمعية العامة في المستقبل على الدول وعلى المنظمات الحكومية الدولية التي تغطي أنشطتها مسائل ذات أهمية للجمعية العامة " ، تتسم بطابع عام إلى حد ما وتحتاج إلى مزيد من الإيضاح.
