657. In light of article 34 and other related articles of the Convention, the Committee recommends that the State party further strengthen its efforts to identify, prevent and combat trafficking in children for sexual and other exploitative purposes, including by:

54. Unaccompanied and separated children on the move may face greater vulnerabilities and risks including discrimination, sexual and other forms of violence, and being coerced into begging, drug dealing or prostitution by criminals or criminal organizations (E/CN.4/2005/85/Add.3).

42. The Committee has expressed concern at the growing involvement of children in the sex industry, including prostitution and pornography, the subject of the Optional Protocol on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which entered into force in 2000, and the large-scale trafficking of children, in particular girls, for the purpose of sexual and other forms of exploitation.
