The present report has been prepared pursuant to Economic and Social Council resolution 2006/31, entitled " Using alternative development programmes to reduce the cultivation of cannabis plants " .
ملخّص أُعدّ هذا التقرير عملا بقرار المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي 2006/31 المعنون " استخدام برامج التنمية البديلة في الحد من زراعة نبتة القنّب " .

In that connection, reference was made to the recommendations of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Meetings of HONLEA, Africa, on illicit cannabis, as well as to Economic and Social Council resolution 2006/31 of 27 July 2006, entitled " Using alternative programmes to reduce the cultivation of cannabis plants " , adopted on the recommendation of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs.
