Moreover, the State of Palestine has called upon the depository of the Geneva Conventions to convene the High Contracting Parties to ensure respect for the Fourth Geneva Convention in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and to take measures to provide protection to the Palestinian people living under Israel's cruel and belligerent 47-year military occupation.

Clearly, the situation before us demands the attention of the international community, particularly the Security Council, which is duty-bound to act to maintain international peace and security and, in accordance with international humanitarian law, ensure protection for the Palestinian people under this savage military occupation.
ومن الجلي أن الوضع الذي نواجهه يستوجب اهتمام المجتمع الدولي، لا سيما مجلس الأمن، الذي يقع عليه التزام بواجب العمل على صون السلام والأمن الدوليين والقيام، وفقا للقانون الإنساني الدولي، بكفالة الحماية للشعب الفلسطيني الذي يعيش تحت هذا الاحتلال العسكري الوحشي.

In this context, we demand once again that serious follow-up measures be taken to ensure accountability and justice for the crimes perpetrated by Israel, the occupying power, against the unarmed Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip and provide protection for the Palestinian people.
وفي هذا الصدد، نطالب مجدداً باتخاذ تدابير متابعة جدية لضمان المساءلة والعدالة في الجرائم التي اقترفتها إسرائيل، قوة الاحتلال، ضد المدنيين الفلسطينيين العزل في قطاع غزة وتوفير الحماية للشعب الفلسطيني.

He urged the United Nations to provide protection for the Palestinian people and, in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions, to prevail on Israel to end its aggression against the Palestinian people, their homes and their property, and to cooperate in an independent legal inquiry that would ensure prosecution of the Israeli officials responsible for causing that human tragedy.
وحث الأمم المتحدة على توفير الحماية للشعب الفلسطيني والقيام، وفقا لقرارات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة، بحمل إسرائيل على إنهاء عدوانها على الشعب الفلسطيني وعلى دياره وممتلكاته، والتعاون في إجراء تحقيق قانوني مستقل يكفل ملاحقة المسؤولين الإسرائيليين المتسببين في وقوع هذه المأساة البشرية.
