13. The Stavanger conference was convened on 4 and 5 November 2003 by the International Water Academy in Stavanger, Norway, with the theme " Water for the Poorest " .

The International Water Academy hereby wishes to express its gratitude to all conference participants who very actively brought forward their knowledge, experiences, views and recommendations, - as well as thanks to the key institutions that supported the Conference.

Water and Climate. In 2009, the council published a synthesis report entitled " Don't stick your head in the sand " and 16 perspective papers on adaptation to climate change with the UNESCO cooperative programme on water and climate, the International Water Association and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Existing innovative water quality guidelines at the global, regional, national and catchment area levels are being collected, analysed and compiled into a global compendium on water quality guidelines with the support of the International Water Association (IWA) and inputs from Governments and various other stakeholders.

Representatives of national and local governments, United Nations agencies, intergovernmental organizations, civil society, academia, water operators, business and industry, professional associations, indigenous groups, youth and the media come to the Forums to exchange views and advance the International Water agenda.
ويفد للمنتديات ممثلو الحكومات الوطنية والمحلية ووكالات الأمم المتحدة، والمنظمات الحكومية الدولية، والمجتمع المدني، والأوساط الأكاديمية، والجهات المشغلة لمرافق المياه، وقطاع الأعمال التجارية والصناعية والرابطات المهنية ومجموعات السكان الأصليين والشباب ووسائط الإعلام، لتبادل الآراء وتعزيز الخطة الدولية للمياه.

On 4 - 5 November 2003, stakeholders from Governments in the South, from donor countries and the international donor community, from civil society in the South, the international business community and water professionals were convened by the International Water Academy (TIWA) in Stavanger, Norway, to discuss " Water for the Poorest " .

19. In its methodological work the Interagency Working Group will focus on the joint development of consolidated guidelines for International Water statistics based mainly on work carried out by Eurostat, the United Nations Statistics Division, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and earlier by ECE.
19 - سيركز الفريق العامل المشترك بين الوكالات في عمله المنهجي على التشارك في وضع مبادئ توجيهية موحدة للإحصاءات الدولية للمياه استنادا أساسا إلى الأعمال التي اضطلع بها المكتب الإحصائي للجماعات الأوروبية وشعبة الإحصاءات بالأمم المتحدة ومنظمة الأمم المتحدة للأغذية والزراعة (الفاو)، وقبل هؤلاء، اللجنة الاقتصادية لأوروبا.

16. In recognition of the Year and to highlight the importance of sanitation to human development, the United Nations University's International Network on Water, Environment and Health held a workshop in Hamilton, Canada, on 20 and 21 October 2008.
16 - واعترافا منها برسالة السنة الدولية وإبرازا لأهمية المرافق الصحية في التنمية البشرية، عقدت الشبكة الدولية للمياه والبيئة والصحة التابعة لجامعة الأمم المتحدة ورشة عمل في هاملتون بكندا في 20 و 21 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2008.
